Barton County Drug Endangered Children Taskforce: |
The Barton County Drug Endangered Children Task Force consists of health professionals, law enforcement, juvenile services and social services that work together to help children living in homes where methamphetamine use and production take place. The Task Force developed a protocol of response in 2005 that lays out the role of each agency in working with children that are found at methamphetamine labs. The protocol assists in the gathering of evidence that children were exposed to the dangers of methamphetamine production and use by their caretakers. The protocol designates responsibility of evidence collection, health assessment, and prosecution. The taskforce provides community and first responder training to be on methamphetamine and meets on a quarterly and as needed basis.
