Rush County is involved in methamphetamine prevention through the Kansas Retailer Meth Watch program and provides meth education and awareness to the community.

As of November 2010, Rush Center joined efforts with counties regarding Substance Abuse Prevention and Healthy Communities in Chronic Disease Risk Reduction. Meetings take place in Great Bend and the coalition is striving to build capacity and strengthen collaboration among citizens and local organizations.
