RPC staff make on-site presentations to communities and groups that are addressing specific problem issues. Presentations may be requested for groups from five to 500. Some of the issues RPC staff have presented on include: substance abuse prevention; underage drinking; tobacco prevention and cessation; clean indoor air policies; effective prevention science and evaluation measures.
RPC staff members are also certified trainers for a variety of programs and trainings, including: Adult Baseline; Teen Baseline; Communities That Care; Tobacco Free Teens. Most programs and trainings are offered at the request of a group or organization. Some are offered on a periodic general basis.

Kansas Tobacco Retailer Training is a two hour training that will educate participants on the prevalence of underage tobacco use and Kansas law regarding the sale of tobacco products. The participants will learn how to properly check identification, learn refusal skills and be provided with resources to best support retailers and reduce youth access to tobacco products.
Community Baseline Training is a two-day inter-active program designed to give you a personal awareness of the impact of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs on individuals, families and communities. By examining your own ideas and opinions and listening to those of others, a process is begun for working together to deal with this issue which, in some way, has touched all our lives.
Teen Baseline Training is a one-day experience designed to help teens realize that they make their own decisions regarding alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs; and their best decisions come from knowing themselves and finding out as much information as possible.
SPICEline Training: SPICE stands for Senior Prevention Intervention Counseling Education. SPICEline is a one-day training on the mismanagement of medications and substance abuse in older adults.
The Youth Education Safety (YES) Program is designed for youth who have been identified as having some degree of involvement with using alcohol, tobacco or other drugs, but whose use has been evaluated to be at an early stage. This education programs' goal is to introduce families to the knowledge and skills needed to effectively respond to the challenge of adolescent substance abuse. [more info]
Communities That Care is a program that helps communities organize and involve all community members who have a stake in healthy futures for young people. CTC helps set priorities for action; strengthens funding applications; defines clear, measurable outcomes; identifies gaps and evaluates progress of coalitions interested in making prevention a priority in their community.
Tobacco Free Teens is a small group experience designed to assist young people in becoming tobacco-free.
Guiding Good Choices is a multimedia program that gives parents of children in grades 4 through 8 the knowledge and skills needed to guide their children through early adolescence.
